Who to captain in FPL

Your captain's points count twice, so the choice is worth more than any single transfer. The ranking orders every Fantasy Premier League player by expected points for the next gameweek, taking in the fixture, the chance of starting and each player's share of their club's goals and assists.

The safe pick is the player with the most expected points. When you need to climb, a differential owned by few managers gains you more if it comes off. Rank value weighs the two: what a captain's expected points gain you on the average top-10k team, given how many of those teams own and captain him. Who should I captain in FPL this week?

The top of the list is the player with the highest expected points for the next gameweek. If he is doubtful, the flag beside his name says so, and the next player down is the safer choice.

What is a differential captain?

A captain owned by few managers. Here it means a player owned by fewer than 10% of all FPL managers. If he scores well you gain on almost everyone; if he blanks you lose ground to the popular pick.

What happens if my captain doesn't play?

Your vice-captain's points are doubled instead. If neither plays, no one's points are doubled, so choose a vice-captain who is likely to start.

Can I change my captain after the deadline?

No. The captain and vice-captain lock at the deadline with the rest of your team, so check the team news shortly before it.
